The EPFO in India oversees the EPF scheme for private sector workers, providing a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN) for managing PF activities. With UAN, employees can check PF balances, withdraw funds, and access account details via the EPFO’s UAN Member Login.

UAN Login Process
- First, click on “UAN Login.” Or visit on – https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
- Then, a page will open on the screen where the person needs to enter their UAN number and password and input the CAPTCHA code.
- Now, click on “Sign In.”
Reset Your UAN Password
To reset your forgotten UAN password, follow these steps:
- Visit the UAN Login page.
- Click on “Forgot Password.“
- Enter your UAN number and CAPTCHA code, then click “Submit.”
- Provide your name, date of birth, and select gender on the next page, then click “Verify.”
Steps to Retrieve Your UAN Number
- First, visit the official website of EPFO.
- Here, on the main page, click on “Our Services.”
- Now, click on the “For Employees” option.
- Thereafter, click on “Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP).”
- Now, a new page will open on your screen. On this page, you will see the option “Know Your UAN.” Click on this option.
- Now, you will need to enter any of their identification numbers, and thereafter, enter the CAPTCHA code.
- Now, click on “Request OTP”.
- Now, an OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the number you entered. Enter the OTP in the OTP area and then re-enter the CAPTCHA code.
- Next, click on “Validate OTP.”
- Now, a new page will open on your screen, and here select the document provided in their EPF account (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Member ID).
- Here, fill in your name, date of birth, and other requested information according to the chosen document.
- After entering all the information, enter the CAPTCHA code and click on “Show My UAN.”
- Now, your UAN number will be provided to you on your screen.
Guide to Activating Your UAN Number
Any person who wants to activate their UAN number can easily obtain it by following the steps below:
- To activate your UAN number, first go to the official website of EPFO.
- Here on the main page, click on “Our Services”.
- Thereafter, click on “Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP).”
- Thereafter, you need to click on “Activate UAN”.
- Now, a new page will open on your screen. Here, select UAN and enter your UAN number.
- After entering the UAN number, you need to provide your Aadhaar card number, name, date of birth, and the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. Finally, enter the CAPTCHA code.
- Now, click on “Get Authorization Pin” while giving your consent.
- Now, a new page will open on your screen, displaying all the information you have entered. Review all the information you provided and give your consent.
- Thereafter, enter the OTP received on your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card and click on “Validate OTP and Activate UAN.”
💡Now your UAN number is activated, and your default password will be sent to your registered mobile number and can log in using your UAN number and the default password received.
